Purishade 270g
SolariA waterproof our best radial cut shade sail
Solaria is the premium waterproof shade sail - made in Italy with a radial cut made from Purishade®, an innovative and environmentally friendly sail fabric.
Optimal protection against UV rays (UPF50 +), rain, sun, and wind up to 38mph.
The radial cut, invented in 1983 by sail designer Tom Schnackenberg, introduced a revolution in the manufacture of sails. Radially cut sails are many times more resistant to wind and rain and optimally bring the tension to the center of the sail.
Thanks to modern technologies, we can create extremely precise cuts and seams and thus create a shade sail that can be stretched really tight and thus optimizes water drainage and wind resistance.
A special anti-drop thread and an automatic seam sealing system ensure complete waterproofing.
It is equipped with multilayer reinforcements and oversized stainless-steel plates with adjustable reinforcement straps.
Solaria is made to measure (go to the configurator here) but is also available in 15 standard sizes.
Purishade® polypropylene fabric 270 gsm, 20 inches water column, UV 50+, breathable (37% cooling factor), colour fastness 7/8 ISO 105B02, environmentally friendly (HIGG value 37), abrasion-resistant and tear-resistant (10,000 cycles, certified according to the ASTM D4966 test).
- Radial cut, enables optimal distribution of the tension, structural rigidity, resistance over time, better wind resistance (38 mph)
- Made in Italy, digital cutting and stitching, drop-sealed seams for perfect water resistance
- Sail corners with multilayer reinforcements and 316 stainless steel plates of nautical quality with adjustable reinforcement straps
- Over 15 sizes or made to measure (click here for the configurator)

Accessories
Solaria WP (waterproof) represents the maximum desirable from a sun sail. It is made with a highly technical fabric, Purishade®, which ensures great color persistence, certified by our tests with a grade 7 in ISO 105B02 scale. This fabric was developed by our team not only to have a great duration of coloring but to meet different needs of outdoor fabrics.
It is resistant to 20 inches of water column and thus offers maximum waterproofness, also thanks to the sealed seams it is equipped with. It is also resistant to both abrasion (10,000 cycles certified by the ASTM D4966 test) and linear traction.
Finally, thanks to its breathability, it ensures micro-circulation of air that will help you feel great freshness in the summer heat. If you are further curious about this fabric, let's talk about it in depth on this sheet
The radial cut invented in 1983 by sails designer Tom Schnackenberg introduced a revolution in terms of fiber orientation and thus cutting and sewing. It is certainly a much more laborious cut that involves working through many loops: however, it will be this richness that will allow correct and uniform distribution of tension (through small 'vectors' of force present on each single piece).
We will thus have sails more resistant to the wind, which uniform the tension load, especially in the central part of the sail, eliminating by 93% the risk of formation of central puddles (Maanta test , with sails inclined by at least 25% and properly stretched with 100lbs applied for each vertex). We decided to introduce the radial cut also in fixed sails as we have seen huge differences in performance between this orientation and the normal straight (or cross-cut) packaging. If you want to know more about the radial cut, we advise you to consult this specific in-depth analysis!
For correct tensioning we recommend installing anchors equipped with Muscle x3 force multiplying pulleys as well as our shade sail poles or our wall anchoring kits.
The combination of radial cut, Purishade® technical fabric, sealed seams and other construction technologies gives life to Solaria Waterpro, the best waterproof shade sail on the market.

Waterproofing and breathability
The characteristics of the innovative Purishade® fabric: Waterproof (20 inches water column), breathable, maximum degree of color resistance, eco-friendly (Higg Index 37), resistant to tension and abrasion, UV protection 50+

Quality Made in Italy
Digital fabric cutting, automatic sewing, top quality components, multilayer reinforcements

Tension and radial cut
Thanks to this type of production we have a sail that is more resistant to the wind, with a more uniform tension distribution, able to resist more over time and better drain the water and with a longer guarantee (Maanta offers 4 years of warranty on this product)

Easy installation, dimensions and custom creation
Easily adaptable to any area to be covered with standard sizes up to 452 square feet and the possibility of ordering made to measure in the most varied shapes and sizes

Features

The radial cut allows to obtain performances not comparable to the straight cut. Our digital technology allows for unparalleled accuracy and speed. The result is absolute constructive precision

The sealed seams combined with a technical thread allow for excellent strength and maximum protection against drops.

The multilayer reinforcements in addition to strengthening the corners allow the tension to spread uniformly

The tension can be developed with special pulleys and force multipliers such as those present on our Muscle x3 Kits and on our Ulisse and Alu-Simple anchor poles
Strengths of Solaria
RADIAL CUT AND SEWING
This type of construction is usually used on racing boats to obtain better performance. The many cuts and seams allow a better distribution of the force applied on the corners and will give us a better taut sail, which will fight more efficiently against the wind, drain the water better, last longer.

PURISHADE® FABRIC
An environmentally friendly fabric, made of highly ecological polypropylene and suitable for recycling. It combines excellent mechanical properties (tensile strength, tensile strength) with a great balance between impermeability (500mm water column) and breathability: this helps us to have an excellent exchange of air useful for perceiving a much lower temperature during the summer.

DIGITAL CUT
Thanks to the automated and digital cutting we are able to be extremely precise in the processing of panels and reinforcements, designed by computer. This absolute precision turns into a better finished product.

SEALED SEAMS
A hydrophobic sealant is automatically applied to each seam by our sewing plant.

MULTILAYER REINFORCEMENTS
One of the most stressful points of shade sail are certainly the corners: we reinforce them with different layers of fabric that reinforce and stiffen the structure, helping a correct propagation of force and embellishing the product.

MADE IN ITALY
All processes are managed within our headquarters equipped with digital systems and qualified personnel. Each product is handcrafted but with advanced technologies. Quality control is rigorous.

STAINLESS STEEL RING PLATES
We use marine grade 316 stainless steel ring plates for all of our sails.

ADJUSTABLE STRAPS
The innovative tensioning system with perimetrable reinforcement straps, individually adjustable, allows a uniform distribution of tension over the entire surface of the sail.

PURISHADE® COLOURS
4 carefully selected shades for an optimal match in every situation.
