Both deliver a visible transmittance (Tv) of 0% – zero light gets through – each with a distinct texture and weight.

It depends on the room and how you plan to use it: Blackout is for total darkness (typically bedrooms). Light-filtering fabric lets in soft, diffused light while reducing glare, making it ideal for offices and bathrooms. Sheer fabric maintains maximum brightness with a touch of daytime privacy, perfect for living rooms and kitchens. Samples let you check the effect directly in your space, under your own lighting conditions—bringing Made in Italy quality and design into American homes with clarity and confidence.
The EN 14501 standard classifies the performance of solar shading fabrics. It measures light transmission, solar reflection, total solar factor (GTOT), and privacy level. Every Maanta fabric is tested and certified with verified lab data—never commercial estimates—so you can choose with confidence for your American backyard or outdoor space.
Place the sample near the window or wall where you’ll install the awning and observe it at different times of the day. Natural light changes how color is perceived: a beige may look warmer in the morning and cooler in the afternoon. We recommend evaluating it in both natural and artificial lighting conditions.
