FAQ

Why use threaded rods M12x13 cm instead of wall plugs or self-tapping screws?

The threaded rods M12x5 1/8" offer mechanically superior anchoring—ideal for heavy static loads and structures exposed to constant tension or compression, such as poles for shade sails. Unlike expansion anchors, they allow for more even load distribution through nuts and washers, ensuring greater long-term strength and safety.

What building materials are Maanta threaded rods for sail poles compatible with?

The threaded rods M12x5 1/8" are suitable for use on solid materials such as poured concrete, reinforced concrete, and solid bricks. For hollow or fragile substrates—like hollow bricks—we recommend using systems such as a mesh sleeve with injection mortar.

Is the 5 1/8" length deep enough to ensure solid anchoring?

Yes, the 5 1/8" threaded rods have been specifically selected for Maanta Poles (Alu Simple, Ulisse, EZ Mast) and provide optimal anchoring depth. This length allows for proper penetration into structural materials, ensuring excellent mechanical performance. For best results, we recommend using the M-Plus injection mortar and leaving 3/4" of the rod exposed. If using a mesh sleeve, insert the rod fully into the sleeve depth. Any extra length protruding outside is not an issue.

Can I use these rods with Maanta wall plates?

No, this set is specifically designed for installing Maanta Poles (Alu Simple, Ulisse, EZ Mast, and EZ Mast Inox). For Maanta wall plates, a different type of rod is required, compatible in both depth and diameter. Find the right product here.

How tight can I fasten the nut on the threaded rod?

The tightening torque depends on the type of material in which the threaded rod is installed.
For a secure installation, we recommend following these approximate values:

  • In concrete: approx. 40 Nm
  • In solid brick: approx. 25 Nm
  • In hollow brick: approx. 6 Nm
Is using a dust-extracting drill bit recommended?

Yes, it makes drilling easier and keeps the hole clean, improving the effectiveness of the injection mortar. It’s ideal for fast and precise drilling.
