Car parking cover with shade sails

Shade sails are ideal for covering car parks.
They provide shelter from hail and keep cars cool.
In addition, unlike a system of parasols or a pergola,
a sun sail system can guarantee uninterrupted coolness thanks to the variable inclination of the sail.

HOW DO I PUT TOGETHER MY KIT?

In order to be able to use a part of your garden as a parking area where you can leave one or more cars, you need to:

  • Figure out which points can be least cumbersome in one's terrain. These will be the points where ground-based poles should be placed and where a cubic concrete plinth of at least 25 inches should then be provided.
  • Define how many parking spaces you want to go to protect from sun and hail. This will decide the number of posts, which will vary depending on the quantity and size of the sails you decide to install. Affecting this choice will usually then be the size of the area to be covered as well as aesthetic taste. The largest size in which we make our sails is 452 ft² therefore for areas larger than this size it will be necessary to opt for two or more sails.
  • once you have an idea of what the final structure should look like, it will be critical to determine whether the sail should have custom sizes or whether our variety of standard sizes already offers something that is right for you.
  • The next step is definitely the choice of fabric.

ARE THERE MORE OR LESS SUITABLE FLOORS?

The placement of a Maanta pole should be planned on a concrete surface at least 6 inches thick. If you have a coated and/or tiled surface we recommend anchoring to the concrete below if it is at least 6 inches thick. Then the space surrounding the pole can be re-coated with tiled.

In case you do not have a cemented surface of at least 6 inches, we recommend installing and placing on the ground a concrete plinth of at least 25x25x25 inches per pole.

1 • WHAT FABRIC SHOULD I CHOOSE?

SAVING OPTION

Breathable HDPE fabric is definitely the best for the money-saving option as:

• It is completely tear-proof so in case of hail it will not have any problems. 

• In high-wind situations (such as hail), its natural perforated texture will allow it to let air through. 

• In very hot situations, the HDPE fabric will drain hot air upward.

MULTI-PARKING OPTION

We recommend opting for our Purishade® prestige fabric.

• It is the only fabric on the market that not only provides waterproofing even during many hours of rain, but also manages to ensure proper breathability and micro-air circulation. In this way, the carport can always remain well ventilated even on the most torrid days. Added to this, thanks to its breathability, the wind offers less resistance to the fabric, making the structure very wind-resistant, up to 38 mph.

• Purishade® protects the shaded area both from rain but also from leaves, bird dirt and more.

• Polypropylene, also called Olefin, demonstrates excellent mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance.

2 • HOW DO I TAKE MEASUREMENTS CORRECTLY?

SAVINGS OPTION - LEAN-TO KIT

• Enter the section "Sail tents > Breathable sail tents."

• Select a size that can best cover the car and especially one that is sufficiently smaller than the space you have chosen for the anchors. Each side should be at least 12-36 inches (1-3 feet)  smaller than the distance between the posts and/or wall anchors.

MULTI-PARKING PRESTIGE OPTION - "FREE" KIT

• Choose between the two models of "Made in Italy" sail: Saill or Solaria. In the first variant the seams are horizontal while in the second variant the seams are made radially.

3 • WHO WILL CARRY OUT THE INSTALLATION OF THE SAIL TENTS?

In all cases the one who will have to take care of the installation is the customer himself. However, the customer will not be left alone in this operation.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DOES A SAIL COVER GIVE ME OVER OTHER INSTALLATIONS?
